People From All Over Attend Philadelphia's Independence Day Parade

By John Ostapkovcih

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Thousands lined the streets in Old City Philadelphia for the annual Independence Day Parade there.

This was not as much of a local parade as it was a magnet event that drew in performers from around the country, including the St. Cloud Minnesota All-City Marching Band, whose director is Gary Zwack.

"We've never been here before," he said. "We try to do a big parade and so this is a big out-of-state adventure for us, an 11-day trip."

Also making the trip to Philadelphia was Angela from North Carolina, who is here with her husband and children.

"I homeschool my kids and we were learning about Philadelphia, and I was born in Philadelphia, and she wanted to see the Liberty Bell. It's just a perfect day to go," she said.

The parade seemed to have a little bit of everything, which is why it is no surprise that people from all over attended.
