Weekend Storms Cause Fire At Historic Church In New Jersey
LONGPORT, N. J. (CBS) -- A fire, caused by the weekend storm, destroyed a historic church in Atlantic County, New Jersey.
The Church of the Redeemer, located at 108 South 20th Avenue in Longport, N. J., is set to be demolished on Monday after being destroyed by the fire.
Authorities say the fire was caused by an electrical pole that blew over and hit the church's bell tower.
The church has been a pillar of the community for more than a century.
