Report: Low Glycemic Diet More Effective At Keeping Weight Off
By Dr. Brian McDonough
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - You may not have heard of a low glycemic index diet, but according to a report in the Journal of the American Medical Association, it's about time you think about it.
According to their report, this particular diet, which is not a very strict one, is designed to help keep blood sugar levels stable.
It involves whole grains, protein, fruits and vegetables.
The researchers followed people for seven months and they found that those who were on the low glycemic index diet not only lost weight, but they were more likely to keep it off.
