Norristown Man Rearrested on Additional Child Porn Charges

By Brad Segall

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- The legal problems continue to mount for a Norristown man already awaiting trial in Montgomery County on child pornography and child molestation charges (see previous story).

Gary Romano is now facing child pornography charges on the federal level.  Authorities have unsealed an indictment charging the 56-year-old man with using an underage child to engage in sexually explicit conduct in October and November 2009 in order to produce an image of that conduct.

He is accused of "the production of three images of a minor, and they were named 'sweet,' 'lying down,' and 'holding,' said assistant US attorney Denise Wolf.

According to the indictment, Romano is also charged with possessing child porn on two desktop computers.

If convicted of all charges he faces a mandatory 15 years behind bars.

Romano was rearrested at his Norristown home this morning, and is currently in federal custody pending a detention hearing on Thursday.
