Analysis: The Presidential Primary In New Jersey

By Special Contributor Larry Kane

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The New Jersey primary is Tuesday and once again, he's not on the ballot, but Chris Christie is making news.

Everybody has an opinion. Will Christie be on the ticket? Into the debate comes Donna Gentile O'Donnell, powerful Democratic strategist.

"... (Christie's) bombastic temperament, which may be desirable, because Governor Romney tends to be flat and affected. I think that contrast could be pretty challenging. It would be tough for Romney to manage, if he chooses him, and probably good for our team."

Listen to extended interview:

For John Soroko, head of Duane Morris Law firm and a big player in this year's New Jersey primary, the battle between Romney and Obama is clear cut because he says Mitt Romney is no John McCain.

"Romney is not a pretend candidate like John McCain, who didn't have his heart in it and didn't put his energy in it. I think Mitt Romney's going to run very, very hard, and I am very confident the next President of the United States is going to be Mitt Romney. I don't see Obama being able to recreate the magic of 2008 and sell it to the American people… that here's another historic moment that they can seize."
