Drexel Gets Its Shot at the Title Tonight

By Matt Leon

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A victory for Drexel tonight would be the biggest for the program in a longtime as the Dragons put their 19-game winning streak on the line in the CAA Championship game against Virginia Commonwealth down in Richmond, Virginia.

With a win, Drexel would earn an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament - their first appearance since the 1995-96 season.
The 27-5 Dragons have defeated UNC-Wilmington and Old Dominion the past two days to get to the championship game and they have already defeated VCU once during the regular season.  Drexel captured a 64-58 decision back on January 8th at the DAC.

VCU sits at 27-6 on the season coming into tonight.

The loser of this game will place it's NCAA Tournament hopes in the fickle hands of the selection committee.

KYW's Matt Leon spoke with the voice of Drexel basketball, and also the legendary public address voice of the Phillies and Eagles, Dan Baker, about the match-up and the keys to a Drexel win.
