PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — It seemed like just a matter of time before the Flyers made a trade for a defenseman. The time has come.

The Flyers have traded for Dallas defenseman Nicklas Grossman, in exchange for a second round pick in the 2012 NHL draft, and a third round pick in the 2013 NHL draft, according to the Flyers official Twitter account.

Grossman, 27, is in his fifth season in the NHL, all with the Dallas Stars.
