Record-Breaking 'Soul Train' Line Honors Don Cornelius, Whitney Houston

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A tribute to the late Don Cornelius and Whitney Houston was staged in front of the Art Museum this afternoon. It's an attempt to break the world record for the longest Soul Train Dance Line. The record is 211 in a dance line.

That record was broken around 6 p.m. with 250 dancing through, and they were still dancing

On the count of three let's just say "Don Cornelius, we love you." One, two, three, "Don Cornelius we love you!"

Mayor Michael Nutter kicked things off at the record-breaking attempt, the current record if 211 people in a dance line. There was way more than that at the Art Museum One of them was Dionne Stahllworth.

"Don Cornelius gave so much to so many.There were times when you couldn't see a black face on television. And Don brought the music, not just to us, not just to our people but to everybody," said Stahllworth.

The event also allowed people to sign a giant card for Whtiney Houston's family offering condolences on her untimely death.
