PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police are searching for a group of teenagers behind thousands of dollars in vandalism. They know what the suspects look like, but they are asking the public to help identify them.

The suspects are believed to be about 15-years old, and a lot of their crimes have been documented on video, which the suspects themselves posted to Youtube (above) Lt. Ray Evers says Philadelphia Police first became aware of the group last week, when they were caught on surviellance video smashing windsheilds, spraypainting cars and other property on South Etting Street. The investigation quickly took an interesting turn.

“Detectives found that this group, that call themselves ‘Wreck Locals‘ have posted some Youtube videos on their own. So we found several videos of the same group doing the same thing in several neighborhoods in the city.”

Joseph Salterelli’s Acura was spray painted with ‘wreck locals,’ it was keyed, two tires were slashed and his windshield smashed.

“I priced the windshield it was $350. I haven’t gotten it done because I don’t have the money right now,” Salterelli said.

Salterelli’s car was parked just outside his home on the 2000 block of south etting street in point breeze.

We showed Salaterelli the video posted on YouTube.

“They’re thugs. They need something to do. Somebody’s got to get them off the street before they get someone else,” Salterelli said.

Police says suspects have caused thousands of dollars in damages.
