Storably.com Hooks Up Philadelphia Drivers With Affordable Parking Spots

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A Philadelphia start-up has found a creative way to help neighbors lease and rent parking spaces.

"Parking in the city is really, really hard. Who wants to spend $300 a month on parking? There's got to be a better way and that's where we come in."

Apu Gupta is one of the owners of Storably.com, an website that helps link space owners with those in need of parking and storage.

"Storably lets you be neighborly. It lets you give find a way to give your neighbors a great deal on parking and storage by taking space you don't use and letting you rent it to your neighbors."

Stephan Rodriguez owns an empty warehouse at 24th and Bainbridge. He leases his space for parking and motorcycle storage.

"There's just a lot of space in there that we don't have a lot of use for. So this allowed us to realize some income that we would not otherwise have had."

Gupta says property owners like the site because they can list their space for free and they get to set the price. He says renters love it.

"They can search for a space near their address and up pops hundreds of spaces nearby."
