Aramark Union Workers Rally With Occupy Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Unionized Aramark workers rallied at Occupy Philadelphia then marched to the Aramark Tower at 11th and market streets this evening. They were protesting the lack of movement on a contract.

The contract between the union and Aramark expired in March.

Two hundred people marched to the Aramark Tower chanting and beating drums, and surrounded by police. When they arrived, a small group was asked to meet with Aramark officials about the contract and was allowed in. One was Denise Pane, who works as a suite attendant at the ballpark. She told Aramark officials that reducing hours is not good for workers.

"Four days I had to take off last time with everyone else who works as a suite attendant and we lost a lot of money. We are here today not just for the suite attendants but for concessions and for the whole stadium, we unite here! "

Aramark labor officials said they would take union concerns to the CEO.

Other issues at stake are benefits and wages.
