No-Show University Of Penn Professor Had Excuse: He Died In April

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Several students at the University of Pennsylvania were shocked to find out why their professor did not show up for the first day of class – it turns out he passed away earlier this year.

The students were waiting for professor Henry Teune to teach a political science class on September 13th.

Nearly an hour after the class was scheduled to start, students were notified by an email from university officials that Teune had died. An apology for not cancelling the class was included in the email.

Teune passed away in April at the age of 75.

The story was first reported by the Penn student blog Under the Button.
