New Jersey Restaurant Week To Kick Off Sunday

SOUTH JERSEY (CBS) -- Many South Jersey and Shore restaurants are joining eateries across the state for the third annual New Jersey Restaurant Week starting Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011.

From Sunday, September 18th through the 25th, diners at participating restaurants can get a prix-fixe lunch for $19 and dinner for $35.

Deborah Dowdell is President of the New Jersey Restaurant Association, which is sponsoring the event. She hopes restaurants will be able to pick up some of the business they lost during Hurricane Irene.

"[Restaurant Week is] Right on the heels of the devastating hurricane and floods and a real jolt that the industry experienced in a critical time of the tourism season," Dowdell says.

Some of the restaurants are also making donations to the "Dine Out for No Kid Hungry" campaign, which looks to eliminate childhood hunger.
