Pennsylvania Gov. Corbett Orders Half-Staff Flags For Slain Officer
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) -- Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett is ordering flags in the Capitol complex and in Northampton County to be flown at half-staff to honor a slain police officer.
The governor's office said Friday the order would remain in place until the interment of Freemansburg Borough Police Officer Robert Lasso.
The 31-year-old officer was killed in the line of duty on Thursday while responding to a domestic dispute call.
Authorities say they've recovered the suspected murder weapon, a shotgun, and are naming George Hitcho Jr. as a suspect.
Lasso leaves a wife and two young children.
