Pre-Teens Charged With Throwing Rocks At Vehicles On A.C. Expressway

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS) - A pair of 12-year-old boys have been arrested by New Jersey state troopers in South Jersey, accused of throwing rocks and debris off an overpass into traffic on the Atlantic City Expressway.

Police say this has been going on for nearly two weeks.  An eight-year-old girl riding in a Greyhound bus suffered cuts to her face from broken glass when a rock shattered a window she was sitting near. No other injuries have been reported.

Police say this sort of activity will not be tolerated because it's very dangerous and could lead to fatal car crashes.

The boys, arrested last night, face numerous charges including aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and criminal mischief.

Any similar incidents should immediately be reported to police, officials said.
