Memorial Held For Slain Germantown Cab Company Manager

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Dozens lined up outside of the Germantown Cab Company for a procession to honor Tony Dillard.

The 57-year-old manager was stabbed and strangled in the back of his cab on June 23rd (see related story).

Germantown Cabbies lined up in the cab company parking lot. They stood with their doors open, showing the Germantown Cab Company logo to honor John "Tony" Dillard the manager they say was helpful and hardworking.

Manager Sean Gabbay worked alongside Dillard for years. "Not having Tony around is like losing something you know is supposed to be there."

Many of the cab drivers who worked with Dillard are still in shock.

"If you knew Tony, you would never think about doing something like that."

"It's tragic. Toney was a very good man, it is devastating."

Dillard was engaged to Shawna Jordan and they were set to get married in August.

A memorial service was held on Saturday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Commodore Barry at 6815 Emlen Street.

Police still have not identified a suspect in Dillard's killing .
