So what does the sale of the Sixers really mean? Most people are not surprised. In fact, former coach Larry Brown even said Comcast-Spectacor chairman and CEO Ed Snider "has been weighing the decision for quite a while."

I think as long as the team stays here in Philly and the new owner really cares about the team, it's all good.

Snider would, of course, still own the Flyers, which he will for as long as he can.

Speaking of the Flyers... After they were swept by Boston, Snider said he never wanted a goalie situation like the one they had in the postseason this year.

This week, the Flyers acquired the negotiating rights to Phoenix Coyotes goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov. Considered by some to be the best free agent goaltender on the market. He was Chris Pronger's teamate in Anehiem and has won a Stanley Cup.

The Flyers have until July 1st to get the deal done.
