Bob Dylan Turns 70

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - An icon of the 60's is now in his 70's.  Bob Dylan hits that 70 year milestone today.

Dylan at 70 is different than Dylan at 30 in his subject matter, says Harvey Holiday, DJ at 98.1 WOGL, who has seen Dylan more than 50 times.

But he says the reason for his success remains, "His lyrics, of course are unbelievable. He's considered by many the greatest song writer of all time and a lot of people don't think he's a great singer, but to real fans, the way he sings, you know -- next to Sinatra -- the way he does the lyrics is unbelievable and, as he's gotten older, what I like is he doesn't write songs about teenagers in love anymore."

Holiday says Dylan has never considered himself a political performer, ""He denies that he ever was political. He says that was something that people put on him and as a Bob fan I have to say, no, that he isn't. He says he's a song and dance man, and people have made him this great leader and this great fighter. You know the voice of a generation. And he says, 'I never said that.' He gets very upset about that."
