Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Car In Gloucester County

WESTVILLE, NJ (CBS) – A pedestrian died after being struck by a car in Gloucester County early Monday morning.

The deadly accident happened shortly after midnight in front of a Wawa in the 1000 block of Delsea Drive in Westville.

According to investigators, an unidentified pedestrian was attempting to cross Delsea Drive at Carteret Avenue when he struck and killed by a car.

Police say the driver of the striking vehicle stopped at the scene and attempted to render aid to the victim.

The identity of the victim was not immediately known.

The driver of the car is being questioned by police. So far, no charges have been filed.

Police are investigating whether a heavy downpour and poor visibility at the time may have been factors in the deadly accident.

The incident remains under police investigation.
