Business Booms At Area Flower Shops As Mother's Day Approaches
GLENSIDE, Pa. (CBS) - It's Mother's Day weekend and local flower shops are overwhelmed with orders.
Flowers are one of the most popular gifts to give mom on Mother's Day and it's no surprise since many moms say flowers make them smile.
"I love getting flowers on Mother's Day," said one mother. "Just to look at flowers or plant them, it just brightens up your day."

"I like to get the kind of flowers that go into the ground. And then I like them to plant them for me," said another mom."
Bob Pannepacker is the President of Penny's Flowers in Glenside. He says the best way to make sure your mom gets her flowers on time is to order early.
"If there's one suggestion I can make at any major holiday is order way in advance. Get those orders in way in advance. Get that order in before shops have to stop taking orders because of the volume," said Pannepacker.
If you are looking for last minute flower ideas, Pannepaker says your best bet at this point is to give a potted plant.
