Over 60,000 Comcast Employees Participate In Community Service Event Across U.S.

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Hundreds of Comcast employees are working on beautification projects in west and north Philadelphia in the 10th annual Comcast Cares Day.

Hundreds of Comcast employees are working with volunteers from community organizations to beautify areas of Haddington in West Philadelphia and Kensington. The Fairhill School in Kensington is getting a big makeover, including a hand-painted eco mural.

In Haddington, a vacant lot, the library branch and a playground will be renovated. Charisse Lillie is vice president of community investment for Comcast.

"In each of these sites, we will be painting buildings, we'll be painting murals in a couple of places, we'll be stuffing bags for homeless children."

Nationwide, 63,000 Comcast employees are working on over 600 community projects in what is believed to be the largest corporate day of service in the country.
