Local Red Cross Chapter To Lend Helping Hand To Victims of Wild Weather In South

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter will be sending volunteers to help victims in the South.

The local Red Cross chapter will be sending mental health counselors to the devastated South.

"Entire communities have been wiped out and they're going to need mental health counseling. They're going to need people who can be supportive, can give them resources and advice and be just a good shoulder to cry on and the American Red Cross has specially trained people," said spokesman Dave Schrader, who added that up to 10,000 volunteers will be helping tornado victims for up to three weeks.

He says assistance in other areas may be requested as needs are assessed. The best way for you to help is to donate money to redcrossphilly.org.
