Mayor Nutter Puts Confidence In Flyers On The Line In Bet With Buffalo Mayor

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter hopes he isn't shuffling off to Buffalo -- because of his bet with the mayor of that city over the Flyers-Sabres Eastern Conference playoff.

It's only the quarterfinals, but Mayor Nutter is still willing to lay it on the line in his confidence that the Flyers will get past the Sabres. He has agreed to a bet with Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown, in which the mayor of the losing city will have to wear the cap of the winning team.

"Looking forward to a great series for the Flyers, and sending that hat up to Buffalo," Nutter said on Friday, confident despite the Flyers' loss in Game 1 on Thursday night (see related story).

Each mayor will also perform community service -- in Nutter's case, taking part in a local program that promotes reading and weight loss during the summer.
