Newly Expanded Pennsylvania Convention Center Gets Rave Reviews

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The newly expanded Pennsylvania Convention Center has just wrapped up its first event in the new space and the reviews are glowing.

The Association of Peri-Operative Registered Nurses Congress has always been too large for Philadelphia's space until now. Spokeswoman Gayle Davis says it was a wonderful event; the $787 million addition is beautiful, the convention staff was friendly and helpful and members loved the city.

So would they come back?

"We'd love to come back. We're looking at 2017. Our members we have about 5,000 attendees who are nurses and another 5,000 who are exhibitors of surgical products and the feed back they gave is it was a really terrific event."

Officials at the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors bureau estimate the convention goers spent nearly $28 million during their week in town.
