Bensalem Dress Company Offers Diamond-Encrusted Gown

BENSALEM, Pa. (CBS) - A local company has designed a once-in-a-lifetime dress with quite a price tag: nearly $14,000 ($13,997 to be exact.) And two people have already purchased it -- one in the US and one abroad.

Jon Liney owns a Bensalem dress shop, The Golden Asp, but several years ago started an online company to increase his customer base. It's that company, Dress Goddess, that is offering a once-in-a-lifetime dress with a diamond-encrusted bodice.

"How is Dress Goddess going to set itself apart from everyone? We bounced around a lot of ideas, but this is what we came up with," said Liney.

Hundreds of diamonds are sewn onto each custom-made dress at an undisclosed location (for security reasons). How does he know the woman will like a dress she's never tried on?

"That's always the challenge when you buy something online, but this is a truly once-in-a-lifetime dress and we are going to make this customer happy whatever it takes."

While the Golden Asp sells mostly prom dresses, Liney doubts the two dresses sold already are for a prom.
