PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – We are now getting to that time of year when exercise — yes outdoor exercise — is close to becoming a reality. Of course there are plenty of excuses if you do not want to exercise. There are the usual suspects: lack of time, no one to exercise with and the classic “I cannot play sports like I used to, so why bother?” Many people with young children point to the excuse that all of my free time is spent with my family.

Well, here is one way to knock all of these excuses quite quickly. Why not exercise with the kids?

Take them to the local park, go for a long walk with the dog, jog around the fields during little league practice. It is great family time and an opportunity to get in shape.
