Collingswood Community Theater Relies On Families For Cast Members

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A local theater company in South Jersey has become a family affair, with dozens of cast members related to one another.

"Well, we've always been a family kind of affair," said Terry Seeley, assistant director at the Collingswood Community Theater.

The theater is presenting a production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. She says the theater follows a tradition of families on stage, with many cast members passing their love of theater from generation to generation. But with this production, of the 66 people in the cast, about 40 cast members are related.

Seeley says there are "...a couple sets of sisters, a couple of sets of brothers; we have mom, dad, son and daughter. My son is in the show with me and his mother-in-law is also in the show. We have a couple whose granddaughter is in the show with them."

Joseph is the first show of the CCT's 11th season. For more information, go to collingswoodcommunitytheatre.com.
