Paying For College

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - If you're planning to go to college next fall, now is the time to apply for financial aid. The best place to start is at PhillyGoes2College.com.

On the website, you'll learn about federal and state grants and dates of free hands-on workshops where you can get help in filling out the FAFSA form, the Free Application for Federal Financial Aid. You can also fill out the form online, and good news, the form has just been simplified.

In the second floor education department of the Free Library of Philadelphia at Parkway Central, 1901 Vine Street, there are loads of books and online information on scholarships, and some off-beat ones in The Chronicle of Higher Education's Dollars for Scholars listings.

If you're a women who's at least 5'10" and a man 6'2" you might get dollars from Tall Clubs International Scholarships. If you're a vegetarian, there are Vegetarian Resource Scholarships. And if you're a chess player, or your grandfather played the flute, you just might be in the money!
