PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - It's been a while since average Americans had to worry about whether their financial institution was financially sound. But those days are here again. Thankfully, there's a website dedicated to helping you understand whether your accounts are protected by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Go to myFDICinsurance.gov and enter some basic information – your bank, the amount you have in your accounts, and the names of the owners. With one click you'll know if you're protected, or if you need to move things around.
