Police: Death Of Hunter In Bucks Co. A Homicide
RICHLAND, Pa. (CBS) -- Authorities in Bucks County are labeling the death of a deer hunter on Monday as a homicide.
Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler says an autopsy shows the hunter, 52-year-old Barry Groh of Quakertown, died of a single gunshot wound from a bullet that entered his left arm and then entered his chest.
Groh's body was found Monday in a creek near the rear of a property on California Road in Richland Township.
Police say he called his wife about 10:30 that morning and asked for one of his sons to come help him because he'd bagged a nine-point buck. Police say he died sometime within two hours of the call.
The DA says it doesn't appear to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound and police found the deer and a shotgun near the victim's body.
