Philly Flower Show Will Get A Paris Theme This Year

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The 2011 Philadelphia International Flower Show will be themed "Springtime in Paris," and organizers want the entire city of Philadelphia to join in a citywide celebration.

Drew Becher, president of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, says the 2011 flower show will highlight all the pleasures of Paris -- from the Eiffel Tower, to landscapes, to gardens, food, and entertainments -- but also the pleasures of Philadelphia.

During the announcement at the city's luxurious French hotel, the Sofitel, Becher called on all residents, retailers, restaurants, hotels, and others to help showcase our city.

"The people staying in the hotels for the Flower Show, when they go down to their hotel lobby and they just get, like, wowed by the flowers that are there.  And then they get wowed again when they walk down the streets to the Convention Center," he said at a Monday press conference.

The flower show is March 6th through 13th.  Tickets are on sale now at theflowershow.com.
