Boys Recovering After Hit-Run Crash In Frankford

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Accident investigators are trying to find a driver involved in a hit and run incident over the weekend that left two children on bicycles seriously injured in the city's Frankford section.

Police are searching for the driver of a Dodge Charger who struck Axnelvin Figueroa, 13, and Godesh Morales, 11, as they were riding their bikes in the 1100 block of Herbert Street at about 7:45 p.m. Sunday.

The boys were riding their bikes home from a friend's house when they were struck.

Both boys remain hospitalized at St. Christopher's Hospital. Figueroa suffered serious head injuries, but has been upgraded from critical to stable condition.

Morales remains in stable condition with serious abrasions to the left side of his body.

Police do not have a tag number or a more detailed description of the Charger, except to say it had tinted windows.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Philadelphia police.
