KYW's Local Legends: Gene Johnson
Gene Johnson opened Gullifty's, in Rosemont, Pa., in 1975. It's a casual American restaurant that prides itself on its made-from-scratch menu and its loyal customers.
Johnson says that generations of Main Line families have worked and dined at Gullifty's:
"People will come in and say, 'Oh, I had my first date, we had our first date at Gullifty's,' or, 'We met at Gullifty's." We just hear it all the time."
Gullifty's sponsors annual events that raise money for the Bryn Mawr Fire company, the Police Athletic League, and other community organizations.
"We've been very, very successful and we feel that it's very important to give back to the community and help others along the way."
