Paris Hilton Busted in Las Vegas for Drug Possession

Paris Hilton is involved in yet another legal controversy.

KYW's Bob Nelson reports that police in Las Vegas are defending their arrest on Friday of Hilton (above) and her boyfriend, Cy Waits (below right), when the Cadillac in which they were riding was pulled over.

Police lieutenant Wayne Holman said the car smelled of marijuana and Waits, the driver, was busted for DUI:

"Inside the passenger seat is Paris Hilton, and further interaction between her and the officers led to her arrest for possession of a controlled substance."

Officers say they discovered a "small amount" of cocaine in Hilton's purse.

The Los Angeles Times says that Hilton was flown back to her home in Los Angeles without making any comment, but her attorney, David Chesnoff, released a statement saying that people must not make "a rush to judgment" until all facts have been dealt with in a court of law.
