Tape Reveals More About Convicted Cop Killer

Levon Warner (photo) and Eric Floyd were sentenced to life in prison this week for the murder of Philadelphia police Sergeant Stephen Liczbinski. The evidence against Warner included two calls to 911 from him.

(Warner) " Hello, this is 911, Philadelphia police. Warner-Yea, somebody, somebody had carjacked me."

KYW's Tony Hanson reports this first call came just five minutes after the robbery had gone so tragically, murderously wrong. Levon Warner was panicking. He had used his mother's car as a getaway vehicle, his wallet was inside the car, and he needed a cover story.

Warner stumbled through this first call, but called back 13 minutes later:

"I got out of my car, I was going in to go shopping stuff like that and I left my wallet in my car, and as I was going back to my car to get my wallet, guys came up on me with guns."

Warner flagged down a passing police car, offered his phony story, but it quickly fell apart as investigators reviewed security video of the robbery and saw Warner, the robber and killer, wearing the same boots as Warner -- the would be carjack victim.
