A four-year-old child was killed this afternoon inside a house in Montgomery County, Pa., in what sources say may have been an accidental shooting.

KYW’s Brad Segall reports that the shooting, in the 300 block of Chestnut Street in Royersford, is being investigated by the Montgomery County district attorney’s office and Royersford police.

Sources say the boy was shot in the head and was pronounced dead at Pottstown Hospital.

Family friend Tyler Mohn says he was told the child, Michael Desantis, picked up his father’s gun.

“What happened is that he found his dad’s gun and shot himself.”

DA Risa Ferman would not comment on the shooting until they’re able to learn more about it. An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow on the child.
