Testimony Ends in Liczbinski Shooting Trial

Testimony has wrapped up in the trial of two men charged in the 2008 shooting death of Philadelphia Police Sergeant Stephen Liczbinski. Lawyers will give closing arguments on Friday.  KYW's Steve Tawa reports Assistant District Attorney Jude Conroy was able to tell the jury about Eric Floyd's criminal past. That's because the seldom seen defendant, who's been watching the trial over closed circuit TV from a holding cell for punching a defense lawyer before the jury was picked, testified at mid-week in his own defense.

His criminal resume included a string of convenience store robberies in Lancaster County, as well as armed home invasions and business robberies in Philadelphia.

Judge Renee Cardwell Hughes also told jurors she reconsidered her position on striking Floyd's testimony. While he didn't answer appropriate legal questions, he did say he was not the get-away driver from the bank heist, and was sleeping when Sergeant Liczbinski was shot and killed. The judge now wants the jury to weigh the credibility, relevancy, and accuracy of his testimony, like any other witness.
