Pub on Wolf
2301 South Front St.
Philadelphia, PA 19148
When you’re thirsty in this heat, you’re pretty gosh-darn thirsty. So, let’s make sure you stay properly hydrated by introducing you to Pub on Wolf, a newly opened neighborhood bar located on a corner in South Philly, easily distinguishable by the howling wolf emblazoned on the side of the building.
It’s all pretty simple: lots of beer, great pub grub and a laidback vibe where you can throw back a few pints while watching the Phillies attempt to crawl out of last place in the NL East. While the pool table and dart board in back bring to mind a traditional dive, that distinction is offset by details like sleek high-top tables, a large restored wood bar and black-and-white checkered floors.
But you’re thirsty, we get it. That’s hard when you’re standing within spitting distance of massive, massive amounts of beer. Luckily, the bar has all the standards on tap: think Guinness, Sam Adams Summer, Lagunitas IPA and Yards Brawler Ale, plus an extensive bottle list and a full bar. They even do a pretty killer Moscow Mule.
Now that your thirst has been quenched, you might be kind of hungry for some of the jazzed-up hot dogs, like the Salty Dog (bacon, cheddar and pickles) or the mac-and-cheese-topped Mac Dog. Yes, calling this a regular ol’ pub might be simplifying a bit…but with an ice-cold beer in your hand, who cares?
