ERIE, Pa. (CBS) — While the Delaware Valley deals with a bitter blast, areas to the west are dealing with massive amounts of snow.

Erie, Pennsylvania received 53 inches of snow in 30 hours.

The record-shattering snow began at 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve and continued throughout Christmas Day.

The snowfall is the largest ever two-day snow total in Pennsylvania.

Residents of Erie, who are no stranger to big snowfalls, say the digging process is going to take some time.
