Pastor Reacts To Sexual Assault Charges Against Bucks County Church's Youth Group Leader

MIDDLETOWN twp., Pa. (CBS) -- The allegations are sickening. According to court documents released this evening, a Bucks County church's youth group leader sexually assaulted two underage girls and police want us to put this out immediately in case there may be more.

Bucks County authorities say 22-year-old Michael Walusimbi, a former youth leader, sexually assaulted or tried to sexually assault a 13 and 15-year-old girl inside the church.

"I'm in shock. I can't believe it," said Diane Singletary. She lives next door to Walusimbi and say she's known him since he was a little boy. "Just a great kid," she said of Walusimbi. "Never any problems. I just can't believe it. I'm in total shock."

Authorities say the alleged incidents happened on two separate occasions. On one, the 13-year-old said Walusimbi bent her over a table, held her arms behind her back and pulled down her pants. The 15-year-old told police a similar story, but this time he allegedly told the 15-year-old in her ear she would one day call him a pedophile. The 15-year-old girl told authorities she kicked Walusimbi and escaped.

Dr. Dan Skogan is the senior pastor at the Oxford Valley church, who would only deliver a prepared statement:

"We are truly very deeply saddened over these recent events. We are fully cooperating with the police and being an ongoing investigation, I can't really say anything more than that. We do ask for the prayers of fellow believers."

We went to Walusimbi's house, but there was no answer. According to a probable cause affidavit, Walusimbi acknowledged the assaults in a police interview. "If this is true, than I am glad that the police have him," Singletary told us.

Dr. Skogan asked for the prayers of the community. He said Walusimbi is not allowed on the property. If you have any concerns, or believe you know a victim, call Middletown police or the Bucks County District Attorney's Office.
