Eagles Studs And Duds: Week 8

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Eagles studs and duds of the game only go to the players. That's fortunate for head coach Doug Pederson, who was undoubtedly the number one Eagles dud of the game.

The Eagles lost 29-23 in overtime on Sunday night to the Cowboys in frustrating fashion, as they had plenty of opportunities to win the game.

Duds

3. Wendell Smallwood

One touch: a negative five-yard run and fumble lost with the Eagles leading 23-13 in the fourth quarter. Shaking my head.

2. Zach Ertz

I guess it's because we expect more from Ertz, who signed a five-year extension worth $42.5 million, but he just isn't an explosive player. Four catches for 19 total yards for Ertz on Sunday night. He has a whopping 15 catches for 150 yards in five games this year.

1. Nelson Agholor

Agholor did catch three of his four targets, but his lone drop was a brutal one. It came on a third down in the red zone early in the game, potentially costing the Eagles four points. And then, he complained about people complaining about drops after the game.

Studs

3. Jordan Matthews

The Eagles' receivers stink, but Jordan Matthews does not. Yes, he did have one bad drop towards the sidelines on Wentz's longest pass attempt of the game, but Matthews caught 11 of 14 targets (78.5-percent) for 65 yards and a touchdown.

2. Darren Sproles

Sproles was a workhorse for the Eagles accumulating 103 total yards on 20 touches, playing over 80-percent of the snaps for the first time in his CAREERSproles earned a 74.2 grade per Pro Football Focus, as the Eagles' highest graded non-lineman offensive player.

He also passed LaDainian Tomlinson for eighth all-time in all-purpose yards.

1. Brandon Graham

BG has been a beast all season long and Sunday night, although the box score was not indicative, may have been his most dominant game yet. According to PFF, Graham had 11 of the Eagles' 23 pressures, eight hurries, and three hits against Doug Free -- who got away with some holds. Graham is now PFF's highest graded edge defender in the NFL.
