Only Five Teams Have Shorter Super Bowl Odds Than Philly
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- On August 31st, two days after that infamous Sam Bradford perfect preseason game, the Philadelphia Eagles' Super Bowl odds were around 10/1, among the shortest in the NFL.
Then the Eagles lost three of their first four games to start the season, and according to Bovada LV, their odds plummeted to 35/1, 12th shortest in the NFL.
Now, after back-to-back convincing home wins over the New Orleans Saints and New York Giants to even their record at 3-3, the Eagles' Super Bowl odds shrunk to 18/1, tied for the sixth shortest in the NFL with Pennsylvania's other pro football team.
The Eagles are also now the favorite to win the NFC East at 6/5. After losing in Philadelphia, the Giants are 2/1, while the Dallas Cowboys are 15/4 and the Washington Redskins are 10/1.
The Eagles' opponent this week, the undefeated Carolina Panthers, have longer Super Bowl odds than the Eagles at 20/1. Also, the 5-1 Atlanta Falcons---a team that beat the Eagles in Week 1---also have 20/1 Super Bowl odds.
The New England Patriots are favored to win Super Bowl 50 at 11/4, slightly less than 3/1.
