More Abuse Charges Filed Against North Philly Youth Football Coach

By Mark Abrams

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A North Philadelphia youth football coach, being held on charges he sexually assaulted young boys who played for a neighborhood team, is now facing more charges after additional victims surfaced.

The Philadelphia district attorney's office says Leon Watson, 24,who coached the Rhawnhurst Raiders and the "Little Vicks" neighborhood team, is now charged with additional assault counts.

"These charges involve four new victims -- three minor children and an intellectually disabled adult," says Tasha Jamerson, a spokesman for DA Seth Williams.

Jamerson says Watson is already being held without bail on charges filed in November for allegedly sexually assaulting two brothers, ages eight and nine (see related story). She says the DA suspects there may be more victims.

Jamerson also says DA Williams is asking parents or guardians whose children might have played for the Rhawnhurst Raiders or the Little Vicks to talk to their children. She says if parents suspect a child might have been assaulted, they should contact the police Special Victims Unit.
