Wednesday's Child: Tamir

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Whether he's riding his bike or playing outside, six-year-old Tamir is a ball of energy.

He even knows karate.

(Larry Kane:)  "Do you know any karate moves?"

(Tamir:) "Yes."

(Larry Kane:)  "Show me one."

(Tamir karate chops Larry's arm.)

(Larry Kane:)   "Oh! Boy, I'll tell you, that was a tough move. Did you learn it in karate?"

(Tamir:)  "Yes. And I know how to do the kicks."

(Larry Kane:)   "Don't show me the kicks. You already got my wrist.  You're pretty strong."

(Tamir:) "Thank you!"

His social worker, Melanie Hill, says Tamir needs a permanent family -- one that can keep up with him.

"He's very active and he would benefit from a family that's active," Hill says.  "He would also benefit from two parents. He always has a sunny disposition.  He always has a smile. He's very polite and pleasant to be around."
