PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The “Philadelphia Collection” — a celebration of all things fashion — kicks off next week in center city.
City representative Melanie Johnson says there is a lot to look forward to when the Philadelphia Collection kicks off September 12th (see previous story).
“Mary Dougherty, owner of the Nicole Miller shops in Philadelphia, is bringing back the ‘XIX Fashionable women in Philadelphia’ event,” Johnson (at lectern in photo) says. “We also have The Tents. The Tents is a documentary, a behind-the-scenes look at New York Fashion Week. We also have Sava doing a fashion show. That’s Sarah Van Aiken, who not only has a shop in Philadelphia but also manufactures her products here.”
In addition to the films, the style stars, and the fashion panels, they’ve also recruited bloggers to be style spotters.
“And they will be out in the streets looking for that best dressed man and woman with their own unique sense of style,” Johnson says.
A complete listing of events can be found at www.thephiladelphiacollection.org.
