UPPER MERION, Pa. (CBS) – Police in Upper Merion (Montgomery County) are investigating a jewelry store robbery Wednesday night at the King of Prussia Plaza, and are trying to determine whether that crime — caught on video — is connected to a similar crime Monday night in Limerick.
Three men entered the Tourneau watch store at the King of Prussia Plaza (photo) just before 9 p.m. Wednesday night, holding employees and customers at gunpoint as they broke the glass of the jewelry cases with a hammer. One customer suffered minor lacerations from broken glass.
Police say eighteen Rolex watches, worth a total of $576,000, were taken. The hammer was recovered by police.
Investigators were reviewing the video surveillance to see if the men in this robbery are connected to the robbery that happened at the Zale’s jewelry store at the Philadelphia Premium Outlets in Limerick earlier this week (see previous story).
Oren Liebermann reports…
Police also want to know if these are the same men responsible for recent jewelry store robberies in Cherry Hill and Jackson, New Jersey.
