Police Seek Brazen Pair In Montco Mall Jewelry Store Heist

LIMERICK, Pa. (CBS) - Police in Limerick are investigating an armed robbery on Monday night at a Montgomery County jewelry store that they say it may be linked to a pair of other similar robberies in New Jersey.

At 8:30pm Monday night, two males entered the Zale's Jewelry store at the Philadelphia Premium Outlet Mall inquiring about engagement rings and tennis bracelets.

As one of the men pulled out a handgun, they told the store associates to fill black trash bags with a large amount of jewelry.

The stolen merchandise, valued at more than $150,000, included several engagement rings -- including one with a two-carat diamond -- along with other accessories.  Most of the rings were white gold.

The men sent the store associates to the back room before calmly exiting out the front door.  No other customers were in the store at the time.

Police are investigating a possible link to other similar robberies in March at a Kay Jewelers in Cherry Hill, NJ and in June at the Zale's outlet in Jackson (Ocean County), NJ.

Store cameras captured surveillance video of the suspects in the Limerick robbery.

"They were calm -- we don't think they were first-timers by any stretch of the imagination," said Limerick police chief William Albany.
