Summertime in the City of Brotherly Love means outdoor concerts. The season is already heating up with announcements of anticipated dates from major musical acts. Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z and Taylor Swift are just some of the big names heading towards Philadelphia’s premier venues, and tickets are selling like hotcakes. The 25,000-seat outdoor amphitheater at the Camden Waterfront’s Susquehanna Bank Center showcases the legendary Jimmy Buffett with his “Songs From St. Somewhere Tour.” Although the Margaritaville man hasn’t had a Top 40 hit in decades, millions of Parrotheads remain loyal fans. Taylor Swift kicked off her “Red Tour” in mid-March to a sold-out crowd in Omaha, Nebraska. The tour has been going like a locomotive ever since. Her set pulls heavily from her latest album, “Red,” and includes a duet from opening act Ed Sheeran. Grammy-winning singer Justin Timberlake and hip-hop icon Jay-Z join forces for the “Legends of the Summer Tour” beginning July 17. Including a date at Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park, the dynamic duo is scheduled to hit 12 cities in one month. Timberlake, of course, has Jay-Z to thank for helping him ignite a musical comeback with the new single “Suit & Tie.” The long-awaited stadium tour is the “Cry Me A River” star’s first in more than six years.
