When it comes to tennis courts and clubs, Philadelphia offers a great variety of programs and facilities perfect for any player. Whether you are looking for an exclusive club's posh amenities, a public park for a last-minute match, or a place the whole family can enjoy, the city's best tennis courts and clubs promise the best of both worlds.

The Racquet and Social Club offers squash, court tennis and racquets. The majority of the club members are serious racquet sport enthusiasts, but others enjoy the social environment of a private club with spa alternatives. The club committee looks for members who fit into the mix of its long-standing members. In addition to its racquet court facilities, the club also has a swimming pool and fitness center, and hosts events such as the popular Tavern Tour, in which club members travel by trolley to the Philadelphia Brewing Co. and visit several of Philadelphia's landmark pubs.

The public courts at LaSalle University offer team tennis activities and tournaments for everyone. The courts are associated with Attitude Tennis, which offers clinics, lessons and meet-ups for adult tennis players. In addition to programs for adults, it caters programs to junior and senior tennis players as well. The outdoor facility features six hard courts with lights on LaSalle's campus.

Germantown Cricket Club is a private country club only 15 minutes outside of Center City, making it an easy stop on your way home from work. Its breathtaking 19th-century architecture is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The club is equipped with 24 grass tennis courts, four indoor courts, twelve clay courts, two hard courts, 3 har tru courts, a state-of-the-art squash facility, a fitness center and a bowling alley. Germantown Cricket offers a variety of membership packages, three fine dining areas with excellent menus and poolside meal service.

Chamounix Tennis Courts are set in the heart of Philadelphia's beautiful Fairmount Park. The public park facility features 12 outdoor tennis courts, restrooms and a picnic area perfect for players to spend the whole day playing. It hosts a junior summer camp program and organizes tennis tournaments for by age and skill level. Chamounix Courts offer great after-school and summer activities for city kids as well.

Schuylkill River Park is a fully-equipped recreational center that includes 12 hard tennis courts. Its recreational department offers a variety of tennis programs for adults and kids from beginners to advanced players. Schuylkill Recreational Center offers more than just tennis, the non-profit's educational programs and tournaments are funded entirely by donations. The park itself also offers a summer tennis program through Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis and Education that is separate from its own summer camp.
