Come winter time, you can almost guarantee two things in Philadelphia: snow and those looking to sled on the white stuff. Here is a list of cool places to take your sled and have a good time!

Located in the Fox Chase section of the city, Burholme Park has been attracting sledders to its enormous hill for years. On a snowy day, chances are you will find a packed park.

    Valley Forge Park is where we take our kids now. Not a bad place to go.

    McPherson Square Park, Kensington, F & Clearfield Sts., straight down the Fire Hill, but beware of the Nutcracker.

      I agree, that was the SPOT to go for sledding. We hit that hill many times. It used to be packed back in the 70’s and 80’s! Too bad I’m all the way out here in L.A. now :(. Can’t wait to move back HOME to PA! It’s been way tooooooo long out here!

      Klinger Jr. HIgh’s pond was the place to play ice hockey too! I wonder if it is still there????

        Philmont Country Club used to be a good place to go too if someone was old enough to drive from Southampton HAAA!
